It all started when…

In September of 2016, a young lady named Sarah - whose mother had survived two battles with breast cancer - had the idea to throw a party to raise money for the Maine Cancer Foundation. In just five short weeks, her boss, Larry, and their friends Lana and Deb got together and filled Vinegar Hill Music Theatre with food, drinks, auction items and 150 of their closest friends and colleagues for the inaugural Pink Tie Party. By the end of the evening they had raised over $40,000 dollars for MCF.

Encouraged by their success, the group decided to continue the event annually, raising more funds each time. Inspired to make a difference, Community of Caring was founded to continue supporting organizations in Maine that directly impact those afflicted with and affected by cancer.
